Economic Development

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative has taken a leadership role in fostering economic development and progress for Upstate South Carolina. We work hand-in-hand with local economic development groups as well as statewide groups like the Palmetto Economic Development Corporation and Upstate Alliance

The Palmetto Economic Development Corporation promotes South Carolina’s unique industrial advantages and strategic location for new industry and expansions and provides professional, experienced, personalized industrial site location counseling — confidentially and cost-free.

The Upstate Alliance is a public/private regional economic development organization designed to market the dynamic 10-county Upstate region to the world. The 10 counties of the Alliance represent the commerce-rich northwestern corner of SC. The Alliance was formed in 2000; is fully staffed, with state-of-the-art infrastructure to aggressively implement an effective regional economic development strategy.

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative representatives take an active role in attracting new industries to our area. We take this role very seriously because we know that new industry means new jobs, and new jobs mean greater prosperity and better quality of life for our friends and neighbors.
