What is the Annual Meeting and why should I attend?
The Annual Meeting is a meeting of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative members and a special occasion for members to participate in cooperative business and meet their cooperative leaders and employees. Each member who is present and registers receives a registration gift and will be eligible to win door prizes. Most importantly, members can exercise their cooperative right to vote in the election for seats on the cooperative’s Board of Trustees. During the business meeting, the President and CEO will inform members of current events and share important information pertaining to the cooperative.
When is the Annual Meeting held and how will I be notified?
The Annual Meeting is Thursday, April 23, 2020. Members receive a registration card on the cover of the April South Carolina Living magazine.
Where and what time is the meeting held?
The meeting is held at Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative’s main office. The address is 734 West Main Street in Pickens, SC. Our offices will close at 1 p.m., registration begins at 2 p.m. and concludes at 7 p. m. The business meeting begins at 7 p.m.
How do I register and vote?
In order to register and vote, you must bring a valid photo ID. It is also important for you to bring your registration card to minimize the wait in registration lines.
How do I know if I am eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting?
Only qualified members will be able to register and vote at the Annual Meeting. Members will be required to show a photo ID or other suitable identification at the time of registration. Each member is entitled to only one (1) vote, regardless of the number of accounts that he/she may have. No person may vote for a member by virtue of a proxy.
What is the registration gift for 2020?
The 2020 registration gift is a Toastmaster crock pot. The registration gift is offered as an incentive to encourage members to attend the Annual Meeting; therefore, the registration gift is ONLY available to those members who are present.
How do I enter the prize drawing?
Once you are registered you are automatically eligible to win a door prize. You will be given one half of a prize drawing ticket and the other half will be put into the collection box. Hold on to your ticket so you can claim your prize if your ticket number is called.
When are the door prizes given away and do I have to be present to win?
Early bird prize drawings will begin at 5:40 p.m. and the remaining prizes and grand prize will be given away at 8:15 p.m. The grand prize is a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 regular cab truck. Members MUST be present in order to win the door prizes and grand prize drawing.
What is the entertainment schedule?

The Sweet Potato Pie Kids 5:10pm
The Zion Quartet 5:50pm
The Chuck Wagon Gang 7:30pm and 8:30pm
Will the Annual Meeting be held if it rains?
The Annual Meeting will be held rain or shine.
What do I need to do if I am handicapped?
If you do not plan to stay for the business meeting, please take advantage of our convenient drive-thru registration. If you would like to attend the meeting, please make sure your handicapped placard is visible from your automobile. You will be directed to the handicapped parking area providing space is available.
